Objectives

Understand, based on the systemic approach, rural development as a process of social construction, aiming at the perception of the complex reality of the rural world and build forms of organization of the agri-food activity;

Provide the scientific basis necessary for the implementation of sustainable agriculture with the agroecosystem as a unit of analysis, supported by Agroecology as a new field of interdisciplinary knowledge and its relation to Sustainable Rural Development, capable of generating scientific advances and developing innovative technologies;

Provide mastery of methodologies and instruments of scientific research that enable the analysis of socio-environmental processes in an interdisciplinary approach through dialogue of knowledge. Enable the understanding of the dynamics present in the relationship between society and nature as a support for decision-making for public policy makers.
