Admission: Selective Process

Regular Student Selective Process
The Selective Process for admitting students (regular student) in the Graduate Program in Food Science and Technology (PPGCTAL) is performed annually with a date set out by the Program Committee.

The public notice of selective process is published by the Dean Office, defining the number of vacancies, deadlines, type of evaluation, selection criteria and the documentation required. Normally, the public notice is published between February and March. 20 vacancies at least are offered per year. The beginning of classes takes place in the second half of each year.

The stages and rules of the Selective Process are defined in the public notice, which may suffer changes from one year to another. The selection process may include the following stages:

I - Written general test, as described in the selective public notice;
II - Analysis and evaluation of the curriculum framework;

Selection of students in Separated Courses (special student)
The interested candidates who have completed the undergraduate program, recognized by MEC (Ministry of Education), may apply for the Selective Process in a separated curriculum framework of the Master’s Degree in Food Science and Technology.

The Selective Process for a Special Student may take place every six months, always depending on the available courses and availability of vacancies. The public notices for students in separated courses are published in the months prior to the beginning of classes in February and July of each year.

The condition as a special student does exclusively confer the right to a completion statement of courses taken, including the course description, schedule, class-hours (credits), attendance, a teacher in charge, and the mark obtained by the student. The student may require the credit transfer of course taken if the regular student is selected for the program.
