Objectives

The general objective of the Graduation Program in Philosophy of UFFS, at the Master’s Degree level, aims to graduate researchers in philosophy, by providing the proper conditions for the development of studies that show the domain of conceptual and methodological instruments that are essential for the research and teaching of Philosophy. The specific objectives of the Course are:

  1. Training professionals as to the development of research in philosophy by promoting intellectual autonomy and critical thinking;
  2. Producing scientific knowledge in Philosophy, following the conceptual rigor and the philosophical research methods recognized national and internationally;
  3. Forming qualified professionals for Philosophy Teaching in the Higher Education Level;
  4. Developing the relations between Graduation and Undergraduation in Philosophy by providing for the undergraduate students of the Philosophy course of UFFS some opportunities to continue their philosophy studies with quality and level of requirement according to the national criteria of excellence.

The professional graduated by PPGFIL is expected to master the philosophical concepts and methods that enable the development of the philosophical research autonomously and rigorously, as well as to enable them to teach philosophy disciplines in the Higher Education System.
